If you're looking for a tattoo artist in St. Louis, I will assure you, Bryan Davis will not let you down. I searched all over and spoke with tons of friends and ultimately landed at Tower Classic, and I am so happy I did. I emailed Bryan a couple weeks ago and he showed nothing but utmost professionalism. He let me know what he was capable of and very up front with it. If you need any ideas, check out his Instagram because he does lines like the best of them and portraits you wouldn't believe. I came in today, he promptly showed me my options, prepared everything, and had me comfortable immediately. The shop was extremely clean, and the setup was awesome with privacy for each artist. Bryan was quick, but his work is top notch. He created art on my back that I didn't even think was possible, it was more than I could have even imagined. I can't express my appreciation for this shop enough. I refer this shop every time I am complemented on the art they have created. The artists each bring such a different creative ability to the table to the point where I don't even care to have a specific artist do my pieces anymore. I love the environment they create and how they interact with one another. They communicate extremely well with each client, and always make sure you are comfortable. Aside from creating the perfect atmosphere, they are beyond professional. Always educating you on what to expect from the business aspects all the way to proper aftercare. Ask for John! This has been the best tattooing experience I've had so far. He did a cover up for me after a very irritating, uncomfortable experience with another artist at a different shop. He was able to get me in quickly, him and the entire staff are seemingly very informative, professional individuals. The shop is very clean, the vibe is laid back, and the prices are fair. John went out of his way to make me feel comfortable, explained and showed me pictures of where he was at in the process, and made sure I was happy and comfortable. After a ton of research and consultations at quite a few shops, I decided to take the plunge and get tattooed at Tower Classic. From the initial consultation to post-tattoo, I felt well taken care of. John, my artist, was professional; I felt comfortable, and he took the time to perfect the placement of my tattoo. Since this was my first tattoo, I went with something simple, and it has healed perfectly. The shop is also incredibly clean, and the people working the front are great. I've not gotten two tattoos from Jeff Meyer here. He is talented, professional, and friendly. He gives straight forward advice and works with you to design a lasting tattoo that you'll be happy with. He's also not afraid of talking you out of bad ideas, which demonstrates his desire to give you a great tattoo and not just take your money. I am beyond happy with the price I paid for the quality of the work I received and will absolutely be back for more ink in the near future.The shop itself is clean and very well designed, with a really rad classic tattoo shop vibe. All the artists and people working here were professional and fun to be around. Duston is the man hes's nailed on the head both of my pieces, everyone else who works here is super friendly and can hold a conversation, a clean and nice themed shop that provided comfort, reasonable pricing and a great not your average detail at a shop.The traditional style of ink they have around the shop is totally rad.The place is located next to a great venue and restraunt which makes the crowd and vibe super chill if you have to wait or to go before and after you get some ink done. A very sad experience here, I was told I'd wait 1.5 to 2 hours. I asked for pricing but apparently that's not possible, I then waited 3 hours. Only to be told I would have to continue to wait. I was a huge pain in the butt, and a very specific about what I wanted. John took his time to research exactly what I wanted, and how I wanted it. Never complained or acted like i was just another dollar in his pocket and rushed. He did an awesome, joked around, (when I wasn't sleeping), explained how my tattoo should look once it's fully healed even wrote down what ink/ mix he used so when I come back to finish it. Dusto and Tower Classic are the best in the area. I've had experiences in all the major (and a handful of the less-than-major) tattoo shops of St. Louis and this is by far my top pick. The shop itself is clean, professional, friendly, and patient while still being very cool. They manage their walk-in business well, making sure everyone has enough time to get it right instead of slamming out as much work as they can. Pricing and estimates are fair, accurate, and consistent. Payment by credit card is safe and easy. Every artist there has a ton of experience and talent and you often get a collaborative effort of everyone's experience with designs. I'd be happy to get tattooed by anyone that works there, but Dusto is my guy. Dusto is great to work with. I've gone to him for big pieces that required multiple appointments and quicker walk in stuff. In both cases he takes the time to make sure you are going to end up with something great. He really knows his stuff and is willing to listen, so he is awesome at working with you to development your idea into something that will look amazing now and stay looking amazing forever. About two months ago (late August) I got my first tattoo here. I called the previous day asking about prices and appointments. Because the tattoo I was getting was very small and minimal in detail I could just do a walk in. I came in the next day and was welcome and quoted prices[$50]. The place looked so cool and clean. They help me choose the right art I wanted on my arm. They were very helpful and made sure I was comfortable before they began. I was lucky enough to get John! Friendly and down to earth guy. Best shop in Stl and beyond. I've gotten tattooed in tons of different places prior to knowing about Tower Classic. In fact, I'm currently getting an existing tat covered up and it looks insanely good. Sean and his crew are the best you will find so stop looking! I'm sure the work would've been great. The service, however sucks. Future reference to the employees, don't say 20min when it's 1 1/2 hour wait. We waited and they didn't even offer a sense of compensation, they put some teenage chick with a tattoo twice the size ahead of us.... guys, figure out priorities. I have nothing but amazing things to say about this shop. I was referred by a friend who had quality work done on her sleeve by multiple artists here, but she recommended Dusto. I emailed him about a month ago and we set up an appointment. He was very open and accepting of my ideas (I wanted a very personal memorial tattoo for my grandpa), and he reassured me that my ideas were stellar. Upon arrival to the shop on appointment day, Dusto brought out multiple designs for my tattoo, and really made me feel like the the overall design of the tattoo was in my hands. He offered up many ideas I loved, and he listened carefully when I had input. The actual tattooing experience was even better. Dusto made me feel comfortable and relaxed. He was quick and gentle. It didn't hurt at all, and he was super fun to talk to during the tattooing process. He double checked the spelling I wanted before tattooing it as well. He really did a beautiful job on this piece, and in the end, I paid only $160, which is AMAZING for the quality of work I received! These guys are true professionals in their industry, and more importantly they're great artists. This is a great tattoo shop. It is very clean, has awesome decor and has my favorite artist working there Bryan Davis. I have spent a lot of time in this shop and each time the staff and other tattooers were always friendly and interested in the tattoo Bryan was doing on me. It makes you feel part of their shop club. The location is easy to get to in The Grove and parking isn't a problem up and down Manchester (parking meters) or off street parking along the side streets. I recommend this place highly. I stopped by after work to discuss my idea and left with a great tattoo. Dustin listened to my idea and really made it work. The place was clean (in fact, the front room was being mopped when i got there), but if you don't like others stopping by to watch, you might need to ask for a private room (assuming there is one). The stalls only have half walls. Since my tatt is on my arm, it was fine. As for the quality, it's a little hard to tell for sure since it's still healing, but it looks great. Might need a little touch up on some of the lines but nothing terrible (I'll post pics after it heals). It's been about five days since I walked into Tower Classic Tattooing with the vague notion of talking pricing and timing for my first, small wrist tattoo. I had been referred to Andy and was already confident of his talent.I did not expect to take the leap and get my tattoo that very afternoon. Andy was extremely reassuring and I am thrilled with the final results! I didn't feel uncomfortable or silly walking in for my first tattoo. I recently went in to Tower Classic and had work done by Lauren B. I moved around the corner from the shop in July, and was really excited to check it out. My initial experience walking in was one of astonishment. There was so much to look at. The owner of this shop has really thought about every detail. Vintage tattoo art on the walls, old-school barber chairs and repurposed furniture. I seriously see something new and interesting every time I visit.I was greeted by a super nice guy when I walked in who gave me a tour and described the significance of some of the aforementioned memorabilia while Lauren B finished up with her client.The tattoo I got from Lauren B. was on my forearm, and was the least painful tattoo I have to date. It also healed faster than any tattoo I have had previously. Lauren is attentive, interactive, and cool as hell. She stayed true to my original request and added her own suggestions. This is a kick-ass shop. I have gotten tattoos in shops (and not) all over, and this place is the best by far. They are professional in that they are extremely clean and work their bums off on the work you want done, and they are very personable and fun to be around. I tend to ponder things like tattoos for forever and then one day just decided its time and go do it. I had my idea, pictures to back it up, and had done enough research to know this is where I was going to get it done. So a month ago after work I took my pictures and my tax return cash into Tower Classic. Turned out that the two main guys were in Europe, but they had a guest artist in named Bryan Davis who could get me in that night. I showed him my pictures, explained what I wanted and he went off to sketch. 45 min later he came back and no lie, it was exactly what I had in my head but hadn't been able to sketch myself. He somehow took my rambling explanation and a handful of pictures and got it. Two hours later it was on my right shoulder and I couldn't be happier. Seriously, I'm in love with it. The shop itself is gorgeous and clean and the shop manager was super nice. My roommate went in the next night and got lyrics done and she was just as happy as I am. We'll both definitely be back.
