How to see your stats on Spotify (desktop and web player)

Aside from Spotify Wrapped, Spotify doesn’t allow you to see actual numbers. More specific information isn’t available outside your Spotify Wrapped stats. Even then, the information provided is quite limited.

However, Spotify does curate a list of your top artists and tracks. While it won’t specify how long you listened to each song or artist, your “top tracks” and “top artists” of the month will be listed in order based on listening time.

  1. Launch the Spotify desktop app or go to the web player from a browser.
  2. Click on your profile icon, in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Profile.
  4. You should see Top artists this month right under your name and profile image, and Top tracks this month right below it.

My profile doesn’t show the Top artists this month section because I don’t use Spotify enough for it to collect this information. It should show up in the same section, though.

How to see your stats on Spotify (Android and iOS)

On your mobile device, your Spotify stat viewing options get thinner. You can only see your most frequently played artists (as long as you have Recently played artists switched on inSettings). Let’s walk you through turning the feature on and where to find it.

How to see your Recently played artists on the Spotify app:

  1. Open the Spotify mobile app on your Android or iOS device.
  2. Tap on your profile icon, in the top-left corner.
  3. Select View profile.
  4. Look under Recently played artists. You should see your last few ones there. You can also tap on See all artists to see a full list.

How to enable the Recently played artists list on Spotify app:

  1. Launch the Spotify app.
  2. Tap on your profile icon, in the top-left corner.
  3. Go into Settings and privacy.
  4. Select Privacy & Social.
  5. Make sure Recently played artists is toggled on.

The artists in your Recently played artists list are shown in order based on your most recently played song. Select the Recently played button from the Home screen to see your most recent song and playlist history.

Using Stats for Spotify to see your Spotify stats

You can visit a website called Stats for Spotify that will show you your top tracks, top artists, and top genres. This is very similar to the information on Spotify because you cannot see how long you listened to each song, artist, or genre. Tracks, artists, and genres are ranked based on the time listened.

Now, where Stats for Spotify differs from the base platform is in the periods measured. You can view your top tracks, artists, and genres of the last four weeks, the last six months, and all time. To start, head to statsforspotify.com and click the Login with Spotifybutton.

  1. Using a browser, go to statsforspotify.com.
  2. Click on Login with Spotify.
  3. After this, review the agreement page. You must allow Stats for Spotify to access your Spotify account data and activity and take action on your behalf. Granting them this will allow Stats for Spotify to see your stats and then relay them to you in a consumable form factor. Hit Agree, if you do.
  4. Select Top Tracks, Top Artists, or Top Genres.

Spotify Wrapped

Every year, Spotify sends users a personalized Spotify Wrapped summary of their annual listening activity. Spotify Wrapped includes one piece of information exclusive from all the other options mentioned in this article: numbers.

For artists, they can see — and share — bits of statistical information like how many streams they accumulated, how many listeners they had for the year, how many hours their music was listened to, and how many countries listened to their music.

Just keep in mind this feature disappears from plain view after some time. Learn how to find your Spotify Wrapped playlist here. Even if you missed it.

Receiptify is another great option

You can also request a “receipt” of your most-played Spotify tracks using a third-party service called Receiptify.

How to get a receipt with your most-played Spotify tracks:

  1. On your browser, go toreceiptify.herokuapp.com.
  2. Click onLog in with Spotify.
  3. Enter your credentials and hit Log In.
  4. This is also a third-party service. You must grant permission for Receiptify to access your Spotify account. Hit the Agree button, if you do.
  5. Choose what you want your receipt to show. You can choose Top Tracks, Top Artists, Top Genres, Stats, Search Albums, or Build Custom Receipt.
  6. Pick the timeline:Last Month,Last 6 Months, orLast Year.
  7. Choose whether to show theTop 10orTop 50.
  8. Lastly, you can choose the font forClassicorInternational Compatible.
  9. The website will create the receipt. Hit the Download Image button to save it.

Spotify stats FAQs

If you’re looking for exact numbers, like how long you listened to a specific song or how many times you listened to a specific artist, then you are out of luck. This information is kept behind closed doors and is not available. The closest you can get to specific stats is in December of each year when Spotify releases your Spotify Wrapped summary.

Absolutely. It may be a third-party service, but it doesn’t use any personal information, only listening stats. And, Stats for Spotify doesn’t share or sell any of your information at all. Spotify can be hacked, but this service won’t make you more or less vulnerable.

We did some research and have found no reason to suspect Receiptify is unsafe. As always, though, you should also look into this and see if you feel safe granting it access to your account.
