Fantasy Football Defenses to Stream Week 4 (2024)

One of the biggest strategies in fantasy football is streaming defenses. Each week owners will look at matchups and make waiver wire acquisitions to find their starting defense. Here are fantasy football defenses to stream week 4. (Note: All defenses mentioned are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues. Stats from before Monday Night Football)

1. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars have the eighth-ranked fantasy defense this season at 5.3 points per game. Their best performance was a 13-point outing against the Colts in week 1. They had a rough time this past weekend though, as they scored -4 points to the Houston Texans. Jacksonville has two interceptions, four fumble recoveries and five sacks on the season.

This week, the Jaguars will face off against the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons are averaging 18.3 points per game and are coming off a performance where they scored six points against Detroit. Desmond Ridder has struggled to stretch the field so the Jaguars can refind their footing by selling out the stop the run. The Jaguars are available in over 57 percent of ESPN leagues.

2. Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals have the 22nd-ranked fantasy defense, averaging 4.5 points per game (before MNF in week 3). They have scored six fantasy points against the Browns and three against the Ravens so far this season. Cincinnati has registered one interception, one fumble recovery, three sacks and one return touchdown.

They will be facing off with the Tennessee Titans in week 4. The Titans have scored just 15 points per game and have struggled recently with just three points scored against the Cleveland Browns. Tennessee has Tyjae Spears getting more snaps than Derrick Henry, so their offense has a lot of things to work out. Cincinnati could take advantage and have a solid game, even on a short week. They are rostered in just 18.1 percent of ESPN leagues.

3. Minnesota Vikings

With an average of 0.7 points per game, the Vikings rank 27th in the league for fantasy defenses. They scored three points in week 1 against the Buccaneers for their best performance. In week 3, they had their worst outing of the season with a -3 output against the Chargers. They have one interception, one fumble recovery and six sacks in their career.

In week 4 the Vikings will be playing the Carolina Panthers. Carolina is scoring just 18 points per game. Starting quarterback Bryce Young missed week 3 and Andy Dalton filled in. For whoever starts at quarterback, the offensive line will not provide the most protection. Minnesota could have a big game defensively. Their defense is rostered in just two percent of ESPN leagues.

4. Denver Broncos

The Broncos rank as the 27th-best fantasy defense averaging -0.3 points per game. They scored five points in week 1 against the Raiders for their best game. Their worst game was in week 3 when they scored -6 points against the Dolphins. They have one interception, four sacks and one return touchdown on the season.

While they haven’t been great defensively, their matchup makes them worth consideration in week 4. They play the Chicago Bears, who are averaging 15.7 points per game. They recently scored 10 points against the Chiefs, but it wasn’t a great game. They have plenty of issues in their organization that need fixing. Maybe the Broncos can turn their defense around in this game. They are rostered in just 6.4 percent of ESPN leagues.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay has the third-ranked fantasy defense this season, scoring 13.5 points per game. They scored 19 points in week 2 against the Bears, which was the better of their two games. The worst of their two performances was in week 1 against the Vikings when they scored eight points. They have one return touchdown, three interceptions, two fumble recoveries and eight sacks.

The Buccaneers play the New Orleans Saints in week 4. New Orleans is scoring just 17.7 points per game. The Saints will be without starting quarterback Derek Carr, who left their week 3 game with an injury. They will have Alvin Kamara back from suspension and the Buccaneers will be coming off a short week, so it may not be all easy. The Buccaneers are rostered in just 21.2 percent of ESPN leagues.
