No price on this listing, might be smart. Not concerned with getting beat to it, it's very local to me.

43,840 original miles (NOT A TYPO)
Second owner
5 speed
Cold A/C
Power steering, windows & mirrors
Factory torsen LSD
Factory leather-wrapped steering wheel
New timing belt, water pump, thermostat & drive belts
New catalytic converter
New tires
New adjustable Tokico Illumina shocks with Flyin' Miata springs
Excellent top & rear window
New Sony CD/FM/AM 208-watt radio
EXCELLENT inside and out-come drive it, see for yourself

Knee jerk reaction was at least $4k, but the Phoenix car was worth 5k at 60k, so maybe I'm underballin' it. Would like to have a number in mind before I look at it.

You're right, 4k is too low. After calling him and discovering his $7700 asking price, I don't think he's going to come down enough for me to be interested.

I bet I met the owner of that car, when I lived in Tulsa. $7K+ is NUTS for that car!

It sure looks like a PEP (Popular Equipment Package) which is basically everything but the leather interior, but it should have a power antenna and that looks like a fixed one. IMHO the days of a sub 50k, $5k Miata are gone (about two years ago). I think $7700 is high, but that car is easily worth $6k, maybe $6500. With all the maintenance done, new suspension and tires, there's really not much left? If it were any other color than red, he might even get $7k. I'd at least go check it out. I don't know about other parts of the country but in my neck of the woods I don't see too many cars like this advertised very often; when they are they move quick.

BTW, why the new Cat?

I had a beautiful writeup done justifying why it's worth $7K-$8K and then went and looked at the CL ad and changed my mind. If you look at the last picture, the leather on the steering wheel is torn up. That happens from usage, exposure to lots of UV or driven by a woman with long nails who picked at the wheel. It's not a sign of a pristine, low mileage Miata.

Now I'd have to see that car in person as the paint looks like it has a lot of swirls in it, the interior doesn't pop like a low mileage car should. I suspect it may have been the redheaded stepchild and parked outdoors for much of its life and suffered from sun damage as a result.

Driver's side front fender looks a little funky too. Like its a shade off and doesn't fit right.

The $5k figure is about right.

Something wrong with the antenna? Is that supposed to be a (short) fixed antenna or is the retractable one not fully retracting (or telescoping)?

I agree, he may move it a little higher than that because we don't see a ton of local low mileage examples. If he can verify all those extras, maybe 5500-6000.

What's on the pillar guages?
