Cloverfield is a 2008 found footage monster film starring Jessica Lucas, T.J. Miller, Lizzy Caplan, and others. The film follows Rob, who gets a promotion and is going to move to Japan. Rob’s brother Jason throws a farewell party for him while a giant monster attacks New York City.
The monster wrecks the building which held Rob’s farewell party, killing Jason and several others. Rob managed to escape along with his friends Hud, Lily, and Marlena. Rob gets a voice message from his ex-girlfriend Alice who is stuck in her apartment, and everybody goes to save her.
The rest of the film follows Rob and his friends as they save Alice and kill the monsters that attack New York City. Cloverfield was a success grossing 182 million dollars with a budget of 25 million dollars. The film is the first part of the Cloverfield franchise, followed by two others in 2016 and 2018.

The four friends are joined by a couple, Zoe and Michael, before they head towards the place where the 1986 Chernobyl Nuclear disaster had happened with their tour guide Yuri. At the checkpoint, they are denied access, but Yuri takes them through a different path where they encounter mutated fishes which live on the land.

32. The Maze Runner (2014)
The Maze Runner is a sci-fi trilogy based on the book of the same name by James Dashner. The film follows the story of Thomas as he wakes up in a field with several other guys and has no memory of how he reached there. Later he finds out that they all had been kept in a maze with no way out as an experiment to find out who can survive the virus that has left the world isolated.
The other parts of Maze Runner called Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, released in 2015, and Maze Runner: The Death Cure, released in 2018, continue where the first movie left off and find a cure for the virus which makes humans turn into monsters and attack each other.

#Alive is a 2020 South Korean Zombie film that follows the people of south Korea turning into zombies due to an infection. Oh, Joon-woo thinks he is the only survivor of the zombie apocalypse because he stayed inside his apartment when the zombies attacked other humans, but he soon finds out that there is a girl across his apartment who is also uninfected.
The rest of the film follows Oh Joon-woo and the girl Kim Yoo-bin as they talk through a walkie-talkie and try to stay alive throughout the zombie apocalypse till somebody comes and saves them. The film received mostly positive reviews grossing 14.7 million dollars. Alive stars Park Shin-hye and Yoo Ah-in.

35. The Girl With All The Gifts (2016)
The Girl With All The Gifts is a 2016 post-apocalyptic film that follows the story of an infected Earth, and the zombie-like people living in it called ‘hungry.’ A group of second-generation children who are a hybrid of zombies and humans are kept in a military base and are experimented on to find a cure for the infected.
When the hungries attack the base, a girl named Melanie, her teacher Helen and two soldiers escape the place and travel to London. The rest of the film follows Melanie, Helen, and others as they try to find food to survive and a cure for the virus with help of Melanie.

36. The Dead Don’t Die (2019)
The Dead Don’t Die is a 2019 Horror film about a peaceful town named Centerville. One day, two zombies appear and kill two diner employees, causing chaos and panic among the citizens of Centerville. The rest of the film follows the citizens as they try to escape from the zombies and find the source of their sudden appearance.
The film stars Selena Gomez, Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Tilda Swinton, Danny Glover, and others. The film received mixed reviews from critics, and the movie grossed 15.3 million dollars.

Ally, her father Hugh, mother Kelly, brother Jude, maternal grandmother Lynn, and pet dog decide to head to the countryside where it’s quieter so that the creatures don’t harm them.

40. Annihilation (2018)
Annihilation is a 2018 sci-fi horror film that follows the story of Lena, a biology professor and army veteran, who believes that her husband Kane died in a special forces mission and is dumbstruck when he appears in front of her and falls into a coma.
A psychologist, Dr. Ventress, tells Lena about a place called ‘The Shimmer, which has appeared after a meteor hit their town. Lena’s husband, along with others, were sent in the Shimmer to study it, but only Kane came out of it alive.
Lena then decides to venture into the mysterious zone of Shimmer to find out what happened to Kane and the others, along with Ventress, Josie, Cassie, and Anya. The film was not a financial success grossing 43.1 million dollars against a budget of 40-55 million dollars. The cast of Annihilation includes Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez, Tessa Thompson, and others.
